Senior Pastor Tim Trier and his wife Jeruvan Trier

Hi, I am Pastor Tim Trier. I’ve been married to a wonderful lady who makes me shine since 1995. She is Mrs. California, (back in the day). We just celebrated 25 years of marriage in the pandemic year of 2020. We didn’t think we would make it based on our Rocky Mountain beginnings, but we persevered and here we are in love like newlyweds. Together, we have two adult children, Juliette and Timothy. We have served the Free Methodist Church since 2002 as Leaders of just about every position and office at the church. In 2008 we set off abroad as missionaries to Ethiopia helping to manage the ministry of the country and develop leaders to allow the nationals to lead with integrity and honor. It was amazing. Afterward, my wife and I pastored at numerous churches across the country. She is an ordained elder and helps develop my spiritual formation as much as I am able to help her grow also. Those houses of worship were in California,, (Riverside Free Methodist). Additionally, I served as a Pastoral intern at Christ Community Church in Georgia, then as the Senior Pastor in Lakewood CO.
In 2016, I stepped away from the pastorate to enter the financial services industry with Thrivent. In just 20 months I had built a successful financial advisory practice to help families be wise with money and live generously to reach their financial and retirement goals in life. At this juncture, I was promoted to Regional Development Leader to help build the practices of younger and new to the industry Financial Representatives with Thrivent. I love being able to do both careers side-by-side.
In 2002, when my wife and I became Christ-Followers, it was after that salvific event within 24 hours of each other, that we began a journey towards transformation in becoming elder’s in the Free Methodist Church. I’m also very passionate about giving back and volunteer my time with some local and national non-profits which include Cross Purpose and Habitat for Humanity. I also support education and give to my Alma Mater, Wesley Biblical Seminary where I received my MDiv in 2013.
Finally, each year I train and participate in some crazy activities that include Spartan obstacle course events, Ironman triathlons, and century cycling races like the Triple Bypass, I know I’ve lost some marbles, but I have them all in a jar. When I’m not training, I enjoy skiing, climbing 14’ers, (it’s a thing), and being the World’s Best Dog Owner. I’m claiming it; don’t believe me, just ask my dogs, Buddy and Belle and you will be convinced.
