In January 1971, Pastor Cook committed his heart to God and served and studied under the ministry of recently deceased Bishop Earl O. Holiman, Bethsaida Temple Church, until he was ordained in 1978 after hearing God’s calling to the ministry. Pastor Cook continued his calling while studying under Bishop Holiman and worked with youth, sang in the choir, opened praise and worship services, and performed religious ceremonies, such as weddings and funerals, while holding all the permissions, responsibilities, and authority as an ordained minister under the authority and accountability of Bishop Holiman. In 1979, Pastor Cook joined the US Army to further his education and eventually retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three in the U.S. Army in January 1999. During his military career, Pastor Cook continued to study God’s word and supported several churches while being deployed throughout the United States and around the world. On October 9, 2011, Pastor Cook felt a calling from God to start his first church as the Senior Pastor of Ray of Hope Ministries in Denver, Colorado in the Lowry Community. His calling continued the tradition of providing love, hope, and the word of God to the Lowry community while preaching about the cross, salvation, good tiding to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to lost souls, to comfort those that mourn, and to give “Hope” to those in need! As part of his calling, Pastor Cook founded an Outreach program called Hope4U under Ray of Hope Ministries to reach the homeless and those less fortunate. For the last seven years, Pastor Cook and his leadership team, as well as, other volunteers, conducted monthly outreaches to 300-600 homeless in downtown Denver Parks to share the good news of Jesus Christ, as well as, clothed, feed a hot meal, give prayer, encourage, motivate, and give hope to those less fortunate. In addition, Pastor Cook also supported several other organizations in need of clothing in the Denver Metropolitan area to support their programs to help the less fortunate.
With his recent marriage to his lovely wife, Mrs. Lori Adams, they will work together to further the good news of Jesus Christ. Their unique qualifications, diverse experience and backgrounds, and leadership skills will contribute to spreading the gospel to thousands while developing leaders who are devoted to making disciples and serving the Lord with gladness! As a team, they will have a significant impact on the Kingdom of God!
